Elbow & Wrist Pain Treatment
Elbow and wrist pain can develop for a variety of reasons, from sporting injuries and gym-related strain to repetitive tasks at work or home. Symptoms may include pain, stiffness, weakness, reduced grip strength, tingling, numbness, or discomfort during everyday activities.
Common wrist conditions include tendon irritation, repetitive strain injuries (RSI), carpal tunnel syndrome, ligament sprains, and joint stiffness. Wrist and hand symptoms can sometimes also be influenced by irritation of nerves originating from the neck or upper limb.
At the elbow, common conditions include Tennis Elbow (lateral epicondylalgia), Golfer’s Elbow (medial epicondylalgia), bursitis, tendon injuries, and overuse-related pain. These conditions can affect anyone, not just athletes, and are often linked to repetitive movements, lifting, gripping, or prolonged computer use.
Your osteopath or sports therapist will carry out a thorough assessment to identify the underlying cause of your symptoms. This may include evaluating joint mobility, muscle strength, movement patterns, and nerve function where appropriate.

Treatment may include hands-on therapy, sports massage, rehabilitation exercises, activity modification advice, and strength-based rehabilitation to help reduce pain, improve function, and prevent recurrence.
